Dr Jemima Bunn (BEd (Sec Music), University of Melbourne; MMEd, University of Wisconsin–Madison; PhD, Melbourne Graduate School of Education)
Dr Jemima Bunn is a respected music educator, conductor, and curriculum leader known for her commitment to developing rich, inclusive, and student-centred music programs. She has led vibrant instrumental and classroom programs in Victorian government secondary schools, coordinating teaching, performance, and ensemble activities across all levels.
Her ensemble leadership experience spans beginner to advanced groups in school, university, and honour ensemble settings. She has conducted for Melbourne Youth Music, the Sisters of the Church Festival at Canberra Girls’ Grammar School, and at the University of Southern Mississippi and the University of Wisconsin. A career highlight was conducting the Blackburn High School Symphonic Band at the prestigious Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago (2017).
As a tertiary educator, Jemima has contributed to the preparation of pre-service teachers in music pedagogy, conducting, and composition. She is currently Leader of Learning – Music Curriculum at Carey Baptist Grammar School, supporting staff and students in creating meaningful musical experiences.
Jemima is also Director of Brolga Music Publishing, advocating for Australian composers, and is an active member of ABODA, where she has served in state and national leadership roles and received multiple awards for her service.
