About me
Lindsay Ryan is a passionate educator and orchestral conductor with extensive experience across Australia and the United Kingdom. After completing her undergraduate degrees with Honours at the University of Melbourne, she began her career teaching classroom and instrumental music in Melbourne secondary schools.Driven by a love of travel and cultural exchange, Lindsay moved to London where she spent 17 years working in diverse educational settings. Her career highlights include staging a school’s first-ever production in a professional theatre, leading a choir performance at the O2 Arena, and conducting a primary school concert band at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Youth Music Prom. During this time, she also founded and conducted her own orchestra in London.Her focus shifted toward encompassing Special Educational Needs, working with students outside of mainstream education. This work deepened her belief in the power of connection and relationships in learning, prompting her to undertake a Master’s degree in Additional and Special Needs through the University of East London.Now based in Melbourne, Lindsay teaches Literacy Support at Mazenod College, conducts the McKinnon Secondary College Orchestra, and teaches French horn. She brings to all her work a commitment to inclusive, high-quality education.
