Major Greg Peterson – Officer Commanding and Music Director of the Australian Army Band Sydney, is approaching his 25th year of continuous service in the Australian Army. In his career as a flute player and conductor, Greg has performed to countless audiences across domestic tasking, international engagements, and also on operational deployment. Career highlights include subunit command appointments in Sydney, Kapooka, and Melbourne, and performing at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Scotland. As a composer and arranger, many of Greg’s works for Army’s ensembles have been featured on deployments, recordings, and national television. In recent years, Greg has furthered his study of conducting through professional development experiences with “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own,” and the Eastman Wind Ensemble.
