About me
Dr. Joanne Heaton is an accomplished conductor and music educator with over 30 years of international experience across Australia, the U.S., Asia, and Europe. She holds a DMA in Wind Band Conducting from the Sydney Conservatorium and a Master’s in Conducting from the University of Utah. Joanne has guest-conducted honor bands globally and presented at leading conferences including the Midwest Clinic and WASBE. She has received numerous awards, including ABODA Victoria’s Excellence in Music Education and the Jordan Education Foundation's Educator of the Year Award. Currently Head of Bands at Haileybury College and a Yamaha Outreach Clinician, she is dedicated to inspiring young musicians and supporting ensemble directors nationwide.
